Shoes
Goes along with knowing your audience & "why?" but it's always helpful to take 2 steps back and see things from other people's perspective.
Know your audience
Know who you're presenting, their background and objectives. Invaluable to structuring the presentation.
WHY?
Perhaps the question I get asked the most nowadays. But it's always different depending on who's asking. And they why everything :)

What's the story?
Perhaps one of the most important things to think about and articulate. It's not the history. It's not the (point) of the story. Part of it is how you connect the dots.
